Scope: Major work completed as part of Object Design course
Mirror was completed as the major work for the Object Design course as part of my Master of Architecture. The design brief called for the construction of a stool and I spent the semester exploring a variety of materials, arriving at the use of primarily aluminium in the assemblage.
Mirror is constructed from two identical CNC routed aluminium plates, 13 aluminium tubes, 13 steel threaded rods, 26 dome nuts and 52 galvanised nuts. The design plays on ideas of reflection, symmetry and how we initially understand an object visually and then explore it tectonically.
